Should people take the time to go to high school reunions?
I was never so happy and so sad covering a news assignment for Kids Talk Radio as I was at the Hope High School 50th. reunion. I may never see these people again and for three days there was nothing but love in the room. When I hear young people talking about not going to their high school reunions, it makes me feel sad. Welcome to a Kids Talk Radio photo essay. You can send your comments to Suprschool@aol.com.

In case you don't remember high school, this is what it looks like today.
This is the back of Hope High School as seen from a CIA satellite. These shots are hard to get for 50 year reunion.
This is the post card that I sent to all of my Kids Talk Radio backpack journalists in California.
This is where I spent my weekends and summers. It was much colder than California. I loved Rhode Island.
I started my career in science by going to the Roger Williams Park Museum.
This was our high school logo. If you were good in sports you got a letter "H". This helped you to date girls. It worked. Today you need an iPhone, iPad, iWatch, new car and lots of cash.
This is the front lobby of our high school.
At Hope High School we had fresh sea food for lunch everyday. It was great being located up the street from Brown University.
When I was in high school I got to walk by Brown University twice a day for four years. I was a constant reminder that I needed to go to college.
My classmates had photos from our yearbook and this made it possible of all of us to recognize it other. I played basketball with these two guys.
Every high school has a sports super star. This was the best hockey player in the world to me. Today, he helped to bring us all together and we all love him for doing it.

"FIFTY YEAR CLASS REUNION"
WE STARTED OUT AS FRESHMEN IN 1954 AT WAYNE COUNTY HIGH, WE SOON GRADUATED AFTER FOUR YEARS TELLING ALL OUR CLASSMATES GOODBYE.
THE FIRST SUMMER WERE OUT OF SCHOOL WE LOST A DEAR CLASS MATE, THERE ARE NOW A TOTAL OF SIXTEEN GONE ACCORDING TO THE LAST GIVEN DATE.
SOON WE HAD JOBS OR WENT TO COLLEGE AS WE BEGAN A NEW LIFE - SOME FAR AWAY, SOME OF US GOT MARRIED - HAD A FAMILY KEEPING BUSY WITH PLANS FOR EACH DAY.
AFTER TWENTY YEARS WE MET AGAIN THE YEARS WERE BEGINNING TO PASS, WE ENJOYED THE GET-TOGETHER SHARING MEMORIES THAT WOULD LAST.
WE HAD TWO MORE REUNIONS AFTER THAT SHARING STORIES AND HAVING FUN, THE BIG PICNIC AT MILL SPRINGS AT FORTY-FIVE CHICKEN, COLE SLAW AND PICTURES IN THE SUN.
WE JUST HAD A BIG REUNION AFTER FIFTY YEARS IT WAS GOOD TO SEE ALL THAT CAME, SOME OF US HAD CHANGED IN LOOKS SOME OF US LOOKED ABOUT THE SAME.
A STRANGER WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR SOMEONE WE HAD NOT SEEN IN YEARS, WHO COULD THAT BE - THEY HAD REALLY CHANGED THEN WE RECOGNIZED AND HUG AND SHED TEARS.
AT ELEVEN WE MET FOR SANDWICHES SEEING EACH OTHER AGAIN WAS A DELIGHT, WE SHARED A WONDERFUL SATURDAY AFTERNOON EVERYONE LOOKING FORWARD TO A BIG NIGHT.
WE LIGHT A CANDLE IN MEMORY FOR EACH ONE THAT IS GONE, OUR FEELINGS FOR EACH OF THOSE ARE STILL VERY VERY STRONG.
EVERYONE COULD NOT MAKE IT - ONLY TWENTY NINE WE LISTENED TO MUSIC FROM 1958, TOOK PICTURES - SPENT TIME TOGETHER ATE A MEAL AND STAYED RATHER LATE.
WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO SEE EACH OTHER WITH THE HELP OF A NAME LABEL, IN CASE WE CHANGE IN ANOTHER COUPLE YEARS TO ATTEND WE ARE STILL ABLE !!
IT IS A LOT OF WORK TO HAVE A REUNION BUT SO NICE TO HAVE HAD ANOTHER ONE, WE CONSIDER OURSELVES A SPECIAL CLASS TOGETHER WE HAVE SO MUCH FUN.
