Why is everyone so excited about Roger Wagers return to the educational software industry?
Kids Talk Radio, Roger Wagner, Hyper Studio.
Meet Roger Wagner.
Roger Wager, Kids Talk Radio, Bob Barboza
Roger Wager talks about the old days.
Roger Wagner is back writing software and we love it.

Who is Roger Wager and why are so many people excited to see him?

Roger Wager is a good friend and the creator of the award winning software program called Hyper Studio.   Roger has helped thousands of teachers and students to fall in love with using technology in the home and classroom.

Roger Wagner, the technology mentor who created HyperStudio, became best
Known for his commitment to education and popularizing the importance of
multimedia writing and media literacy. He was the first to give students
software that enabled them to make meaningful projects from the information
they studied. HyperStudio became the number one software title in education.
In the past ten years Roger has become a pilot, a patent-holding inventor, and
owner of a rare book auction house.

The good news is that Roger Wager is back and Hyper Studio 5 is a real block buster.  I have a copy and I am going to turn our Kids Talk Radio Journalist loose on the new HyperStudio 5.   We will be back with a review as soon as we take the program through all of its paces.  We have more photos of Roger on our Apple Kids Talk Radio Website.

Meet Jack Minsky and learn all about 3D Weather Globe & Atlas
Learning More About Software MacKiev's 3D Weather Globe & Atlas Version #2.

Kids Talk Radio took the time to interview Jack Minsky about one of our software programs.  We are talking about 3D Weather Glove & Atlas.  We are using the deluxe edition. The program is owned by Software MacKiev and we are using it at Kids Talk Radio.  We are doing a lot of research on the Cabo Verde Islands and other Portuguese speaking countries.  Our plan is to have a team of our journalist involved with a learning exchange program.  We visit them and they visit the USA.  Software Mac Kiev's 3D Weather Globe add a new dimension to our "Journalist in a Box" program.  Now our Kids Talk Weather Reporters can have access to accurate views of stars and planets on constellations and use route maps organizers with more than 100 famous routes.  This is not all.  We can tilt the horizon to see mountains, canyons and more in 3D relief.  We just came back from a trip to the Grand Canyon and this programs works.  Our Kids Talk Radio Weather Journalist can see rain, snow, and a variety of cloud patterns in real-time.  The new updated program has 10 times higher resolution NASA maps (1 pixel to 100 meters).  It is important that the program be able to locate landmarks, national parks, mountains, waterfalls, and more.  We love the real-time weather in 60,000 locations.  This will come in handy when we work with Kids Talk Radio Reporters from around the world.  3D Weather Globe and Atlas provides our Kids Talk Radio Reporters with information on cities, states, and countries.  The video capture exports the globe in motion as a QuickTime movie and this is what we need to report the news to our student journalist around the world. Jack Minsky gave us a copy of 3D Weather Globe and Atlas a year ago.  At the CUE Conference in Palm Springs he gave Bob Barboza a personal demo of version 2.  All we can say is that we love.  Be sure to listen to our Podcast of Jack Minsky and the Software MacKiev organization.

Our next review will be on HyperStudio and Roger Wagner.

Building Robots and Careers: The Vex Robotics Competition
Kids Talk Radio
Meet Charlotte Zaremba, Orange Coast Middle College High School science teacher.
Smart Teachers and Smart Kids

Who says our schools are in trouble?  Great things are happening in the public schools.  You just have to take the time and find the great teachers and the great kids.

These kids know how to work together and they know how to win.  The Robotics competitions help prepare students for careers in engineering where job demand is still growing.  I want these kids to explore robots in the field of medicine.  We invite them to apply for Jr. Medical School.  This will not be the last you will hear about this dynamic team.

Where are all of the great high school bands? Kids Talk Radio Wants to Know.

Kids Talk Radio
I did I teach kids to take a solo?
This program is for teachers that love to teach.

It is a Saturday afternoon and a caring teacher has given up his weekend to be with kids.  This is the story of a teacher that love to teach.  The students are paying close attention to every word the teacher speaks.  Is this why we should keep music alive in our schools?  This is a class that kids love to take and a class that teachers love to teach.  What can we learn from this wonderful teacher?  Later we were joined by the principal and some support staff.  We will have more on this story.
