British Woman Becomes the First Person to Ski Across Antarctica Alone
If the winter weather is getting to you, imagine how British skier Felicity Aston must have felt. She just returned today from a solo ski expedition across Antarctica. She is the first woman—and first human—to complete such a journey alone. The trip took her 59 days, during which she was powered only by her own strength. She hauled two sledges over 1,084 miles, which is not too shabby! The 34-year-old woman from Kent, England, is a veteran of subzero treks, and she used to work at a British weather service base in Antarctica. After being picked up after her expedition, she said she'd been promised "A very long, very hot shower. It's something I haven't had in quite a long time now!" And also some very well-deserved red wine.
Doug is always inventing better ways to travel on the snow.

Is the ice cap melting, if so how much per year and how do you measure it? Is it enough to affect the salinity of the ocean?
If the ice caps are floating will their melting affect the sea level? (Ice in a glass)
I understand that methane gas is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide, and that there has been a simultaneous world wide surge in methane recently. Is the South Pole representative of that?
What affect is it having, how are you measuring it, why do you think it happened?
If it was caused by man, wouldn't it have started in pollution zones and spread - not rise all over the world simultaneously?
If the south pole is losing ice and the north pole is gaining ice, is this a climate shift as opposed to global warming?

This virtual branch of Stanford Health Library has over 10,000 reviewed links to scientifically based medical information on the Internet and over 850 full test health and medical books available for use from home. The Health Library’s streaming video collection includes over 40 videos of Stanford doctors and researchers talking on important health topics including Cancer Supportive Care.
The new Jr. Medical School Toolkit is now available for both Macintosh and PC computers. This updated program is designed to take full advantage of the Stanford health Library text, and steaming videos. Contact Dr. Bob to receive additional information about creative Jr. Medical School projects that will earn points towards graduation.

Jr. Medical School For ten days your classroom is turned into to a modern day hospital.We provide all of the software to simulate a Jr. Medical School learning environment.This program simulates what it would be like going to medical school.Program was designed for gifted and talented students to help them to think about the medical science profession.All students upon successful completion of the course receive graduation certificates and letters for the chief of surgery.Program includes instruction in simulated medicine, chemistry, biology, anatomy, hospital administration, technology, and extensive vocabulary development.Students attend lectures, seminars, virtual Podcast, science labs, and receive advanced technology training on Macintosh, PC's, and Pocket PC's.Students receive additional credit from their general education teachers for attending this advanced science course.This course was created by Bob Barboza, MS. and first taught in the ParamountUnifiedSchool District under a special Annenberg Grant administered by the University of Irvine Educational Department. Project ECHO and the UCLA Anderson School of Management 2008-2009
Kids Talk Radio and Jr. Business School Reporters were at the business plan writing contest at the UCLA Anderson School of Mangement. Students spent the year learning how to write business plans and giving business presentations. Kids Talk Radio was on the spot conducting interviews.
Our law class for kids teaches street law. It is designed to help kids to understand the law and why it is important to follow our nations laws. Important concepts about how laws are made and what it takes to work in the legal profession. Student work in a simulated legal environment and they will triple their vocabulary. This program is designed to develop oral presentation skills and student will benefit by the information and simulation exercises. Custom computer software will be provide for each student in the class. Student will benefit by know what it is like to be a law student and what to expect from a career as an attorney.
Internet Law: This is a fast growing area. The Inernet is growing and Web 2.0 applications are changing the way the game is played. How do I get started? What does the future look like? How can I explore this hot new area?
